Hospitality Takes Action Part 3

Hospitality Takes Action Part 3

Wow, so far this week you have been encouraged to send a note and make a phone call. Today we are going to step it up a notch in our degree of action. What do you think about the action of service?

Some people’s love language is acts of service, so when we do something for someone that has this love language then it translates into hospitality. Do you know a neighbor or a co-worker that needs a little help? Have you heard your neighbor say that they would love to have a patio plant but just don’t the time or energy to do that small task? Maybe a co-worker’s home life is so busy that they are running out each day at work for lunch and eating out when they would rather just sit and eat a good lunch that you have made for them while sharing some laughs with you in the break room or the picnic table outside?

The suggestions above are just two ideas of ways you can serve your friends, neighbors or family members with the act of service that translates into hospitality. Find that special someone today and plan a way to serve them.

Hospitality Takes Action Part 2

Continuing in our series of hositality takes action, today we are going to look at the action of phone calls. Yes, a simple phone call is an act of hospitality. This act of hospitality takes a little more effort than our letter writing just because it requires you to have a conversation with another. This requires time and our listening skills.

A simple call and just a word to say “I wanted you to know I was thinking about you today” will brighten the receivers day. You can make these type of calls when you are waiting in a car line, finishing up supper or folding clothes. With having cell phones, you can find 5 minutes in a the day to make a call.

Get a good address/phone book. Get a pretty one if you would like and fill it up with people that you need to touch, people that need a touch of hospitality. These can be purchased even at the Only $1 store. Keep it in your purse, car or your at your special chair in your home. Use it and give the gift of hospitality by words.

Take a moment today to make a call to someone that needs your sweet kind words of encouragement.

Welcome to my home,

Anna

Hospitality comes in many forms but all hospitality starts with an action. For you have to put feet to your thoughts. You can think about ways to share with others all day long but if it doesn't turn into an action, what value does it have?

Hospitality through your written words. What a simple way with such a great impact on the receiver. Words written is something that a person can hold onto , look at, read over and over again. What a encouragement you can be to someone hurt, sick or going through a hard time by sending a not of encouragement.

Treat yourself to a great set of note cards. Plan to look at this week and find one person that you can express your hospitality to. Plan to send atleast just one card to someone that needs your kind sweet words of encouragements.
